Crankshaft Reconditioning
Crankshaft Grinding
Crankshafts are precision machined to the first available undersize. This ensures exacting tolerances are achieved every time. Oil holes are chamfered to improve lubrication to the journal surface before being micro polished. Oil gallery areas are thoroughly cleaned to remove any remaining contaminates before the crankshaft makes its way to the assembly team.
Crankshaft Micro Polishing
After your crankshaft has been cleaned by hot tanking it will be micro polished to factory specifications. A well polished crankshaft helps remove imperfections from the journals.
Crankshaft Welding
When your crankshaft journal is damaged beyond grinding undersize we weld it back to size to allow grinding service. This service is often needed when an engine has been run either without oil or the oil ran dry.
Oil Hole Chamfering
After a crankshaft has been ground, we chamfer the oil hole to eliminate sharp edges. This helps distribute oil on to crankshaft journals.
